Help protect innocent dolphins

Your gift could help educate tourists and shine the light on cruel animal entertainment venues featuring dolphins.

Dolphins shouldn’t be kept in captivity for shows and interactions with humans. They’re confined in small shallow pools whereas, in the wild, they swim up to 100km in a day and can dive many metres. Dolphins are also trained through food deprivation. If a captive dolphin waves to you, it’s only because they’re hungry. There’s no excuse for this, it’s abuse. Through educating tourists, you can help prevent dolphin suffering.

  • The last generation of dolphins at Dolphin Marine Conservation Park in Coffs Harbour

There are five dolphins at Dolphin Marine Conservation Park (DMCP) in Coffs Harbour and over 30 dolphins at Sea World on the Gold Coast. We moved NRMA, Qantas, Hello World and Virgin to stop promoting DMCP. In doing this, we have reduced the demand to such an extent that we have convinced DMCP to work with us and with Action for Dolphins on a feasibility study of a sea sanctuary for their five remaining dolphins. In March, we launched a petition calling on the Queensland Government to ban captive dolphin breeding at Sea World. Following this launch, DCMP announced that it will end captive breeding. This leaves Sea World as the last venue in Australia that continues to breed dolphins into captivity.
